Performs preliminary sizing and scale-up of heat exchangers for life science process and utility applications. The app uses the selected DIR and process requirements to establish the thermal design basis and calculate preliminary heat duty, required heat-transfer area, flow rates, temperature approach, exchanger configuration, connections, and equipment envelope for project and vendor reconciliation. It can also evaluate scale-up from an existing or reference exchanger by relating process capacity, thermal duty, flow, and heat-transfer requirements to the proposed production-scale design.
